We’ve been pouring over so a whole lot royal tea lately. With King Charles III’s coronation much less than two months away, there’s been masses of speculation about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s attendance, the couple’s relationship with Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, and so tons more. But one bit of drama we nearly neglected was once a potential dig Princess Kate gave to her sister-in-law at the current Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey, and it had the entirety to do with her sartorial statement.

Princess Kate’s outfit of preference for the tournament used to be a navy peplum jacket and midi-skirt set with an embroidered print, which she coordinated with matching hat and pumps. The look is designed by using Erdem, a dressmaker that’s been a preferred of the Princess of Wales for some time. According to the Daily Mail, however, the dressmaker has even greater importance in Princess Kate’s relationship with the Duchess of Sussex.

Early on in their relationship, Erdem became a factor of “tension” for Meghan and Kate as the then-Duchess of Cambridge was given top priority in contrast to her sister-in-law, per the outlet. There have been engagements when Meghan was once seen wearing some of Erdem’s designs. Among them was once the emerald ensemble she wore to a Commonwealth Day Youth Event at Canada House in March 2019 when she used to be pregnant with son Archie.

Now, some human beings might be analyzing a bit too lots into what Princess Kate selected to wear for this year’s Commonwealth Day Services. Then again, the royals are well recognised for making statements without even uttering a phrase via being very selective of the garments they wear, and this is the three-year anniversary of Harry and Meghan’s last public royal match — they made their closing look as senior members of the royal household at the 2020 Commonwealth Day Services. Honestly, we wouldn’t be amazed if this was once simply every other splendid outfit or a message to Meghan.
