A royal biographer has been criticised after claiming Meghan Markle “was only crying for herself” during the Queen’s funeral.
Tom Bower used to be called “vile” and a “bully” after suggesting the Duchess of Sussex was no longer being proper as she mourned Her Majesty with the rest of the Royal Family.
Bower, who has before been heavily critical of Meghan, made the unsubstantiated claim whilst being interviewed on GB News on the identical day the Queen was once buried.
The monarch was once laid to relaxation alongside her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April 2021, all through a private evening carrier in Windsor on Monday.



GB presenter Dan Wootton requested Bower: “Meghan – any person who, obviously, you have spent the ultimate couple of years reporting on – she was very emotional today at the service. Was she shut to the Queen?”
Bower replied: “Well, used to be she emotional back then? I mean, when she allegedly touched a tear, or used to be it the act of a Hollywood actress thinking it might be a desirable gesture to suggest a tear?
“I assume the only person that Meghan, I suppose at the moment, is crying for, is for herself – honestly not for the Queen."



Baroness Hussein-Ece, a Liberal Democrat member of the House of Lords, criticised both Wootton and Bower, tweeting: “Princess Diana was once maligned and hounded till her death, mirroring exactly what’s going on now to Meghan Markle. This vile abuse has to stop.”
Former chief prosecutor Nazir Afzal added: “On this day... of all days... Dan Wooton and Tom Bowers may want to have had a 'moment of quiet reflection' instead of continuing to bully #HarryandMeghan.”
Broadcaster India Willoughby wrote: "Revolting. Night of the funeral. If Dan Wootton and GB News don’t like you, you’re likely a best person."
Harry and Meghan have in current years acquired crucial insurance in components of the British press, which he has described as "toxic".
